While historically women in South Asia would drape pieces of fabric to support their breasts, the concept and regulation of wearing a blouse in India emerged as a colonized solution to enhance the modesty of women while wearing a saree. 
 
As practical and ingrained as we are to cover our upper bodies, we shape this blouse to not acknowledge and celebrate the breasts.
